What's the difference?
CPW sells two similar products called BLOB50 and FATMAN, both based on vintage York dumbbells. The difference is that FATMAN is slightly heavier and slightly more round than the lighter, sleeker BLOB50. This makes FATMAN significantly harder to lift.
Engineered to Perfection
Cannon PowerWorks took great care to secure a true, 1st-generation YORK blob to serve as the FATMAN pattern. The foundry used laser mapping to scan the original, and then CAD software to produce 3D-printed prototypes. Then the 3D-printed prototypes were laser mapped again to fine-tune the exact shape. The result is an incredibly faithful reproduction of the original FATMAN shape including the characteristic bulging, asymmetrical sides which make it so difficult to lift.
